The store is closed today for Rosh Hashanah. Zeke and I will be spending some quality time together.

8 months old

And weighing in at 79.6 lbs. Way to go--staying under the 80 pound mark, good boy!

Pet Fest at AFB

Yesterday we went to the Air Force Base Pet Fest 08. They opened up the base pool to dog swimming, which was so awesome because Zeke and Sadie had never been in clear(ish) water before. They had fun, needed a little help getting out of the pool, but quickly got the hang of it. There were a gang of golden retrievers who didn't want to get out of the water and some crazy looking dog that was launching off the swimming platforms. Then one lady with a miniature dacshund pushed him in the 8 ft end, but left his leash on so she could snatch him out. Very good times.
















One of the local police K-9 units also did a demonstration with one of their drug sniffers, a yellow lab named Beacon. She is a passive notifier, meaning that she just sits when she has smelled something. It was a very interesting demo.

From there we left and went to a dog-friendly restaurant called Parson Jack's. They have a little gated area outside where you and the pooches can be off leash. They were good to Zeke and Sadie but the food was not so fantastic.

Zeke at Work pt 3

Zeke and Charles have a special friendship. Charles is the owner of the company and has two grand-labs of his own. They share an affection for chicken and collard greens.

at Preppy Pet

While we have been out of town Zeke and Sadie have been staying at Preppy Pet. It was the first time I have ever left Zeke so I have been nervous. I called over the weekend and was reassured that they are doing well and having a good time with the other dogs. Their dad is supposed to be picking them up today, and then taking them for a hike. Then he will bring Zeke to me. So more report later.

Edit: Well they came back to me healthy. No obvious damage so I guess we can go back there again, if we HAVE to. Its always much more fun when the kids come with on vacation.

Zeke at Work part 2

Here is Zeke with his good friend Judy. Judy teaches Lowery Organ music classes for senior adults at Fox Music House. Zeke is not taking organ classes, but he likes to visit the students. Judy, a german shepherd lover, gives off that 'dog person' vibe, and Z is always excited to see her.

Zeke's Labor Day

Zeke decided to try his paw at football since he had Monday off for Labor Day.
