Today Zeke turned 11 months. Over the weekend we weighed him at 86.0 lbs (must be too much holiday snacking) and we went for a hike at a new spot.

Zeke meets puppy Carolina

At a birthday party yesterday Zeke got to make a new friend.
This is Carolina; what a cutie and quite a fireball.
Zeke and Carolina had a GREAT time playing in the yard. Carolina was not at all concerned that she was about 1/8 the size of Zeke.

Time to stop for a drink.
Climbing the big chocolate brown mountain.

company christmas dinner

Fox Music had our christmas luncheon today, with some DELICIOUS eats. Zeke was such a well behaved boy , for the most part he laid down by his mom's chair and got a few treats passed to him.

Zeke and Santa Matthews.
Thanks Santa Matt!!!!

That food looks scrumptious! (Like Z's improvised holiday collar?)

Uncle Vic sneaks Zeke some turkey.

a fun day, with no pictures to prove it

This morning Zeke went with his mom on a service call. The secretary at the church just let him walk right in like he owned the joint. Then later we stopped by a friend of Zeke's Uncle Vic who has two labs and an awesome pond. Zeke had a fantastic time playing with Brutus and Porsha. Brutus is a hardcore fetcher but the Z man was way into 6 month old Porsha. We were hoping he would pick up a few pointers from Brutus, but I don't think that worked. Anyway, it was a great time.

christmas concert

Zeke went to his friend Sarah's Christmas concert at town hall today. It was awesome holiday fun, and Zeke got to meet some new people and see some old friends.

The new restaurant by town hall, Ladles, had a Christmas tree outside with dog biscuits tied to it. They are taking donations for the local SPCA.

Father John comes to visit

We got a visit today from Zeke's breeder! He comes by to see Zeke when he is in town.
(sing to the tune of Father Abraham)
Father John, had many pups, many pups had Father John. Zeke was one of them and he is cute, so lets just praise the Lord. Right paw!

Zeke and Sadie's Thanksgiving wouldn't have been the same without the welcome the recieved from Mrs. Hess. They had a fabulous and fun time staying at her home. Thanks!

on the road again...

Today we traveled back home (and have arrived safely), we stopped at a nice rest area as you enter into North Carolina. Zeke seemed to get a little anxious driving through the mountains, he was panting and shaking some. We thought it might be related to the pressure change, maybe his ears don't pop and adjust as easily as human ears do.
Zeke said it was fun to travel but great to be back home.

Williamson WV

For the Thanksgiving holiday we went to visit the family in West Virginia. Today Zeke got his formal introduction to Williamson. Above he is pictured at the floodwall.

Here is Zeke at the "Coal House". The area chamber of commerce is made entirely of coal, a symbol of the areas leading industry. Unfortunately the coal house was closed today, so we didn't get to buy any souveniers or meet any of the welcome wagon.

Sadie, Zeke and Dad take a break in front of Chief Logan of the Mingo tribe.

The area also has some great ATV trails, so we all took a hike to check out the Buffalo Mountain Trail of the larger Hatfield McCoy trail system.

MMM, that WV mountain water tastes delicious.
Here are Zeke and mom taking a breather on the hike. Very fun and educational day for Zeke. The trails are really fantastic.

Zeke at Work Part 5

Here is Zeke with Bessie, our Accounts Receivable and Piano Moves Superwoman. Zeke has found Bessie susceptible to his "SAD EYES" look and uses his power against her whenever she is trying to eat her lunch.

Trip to Harbison State Forest

Today Zeke made his first visit to Harbison State Forest. It was awesome, we hiked for a few hours on some really great trails. Then we stopped for BBQ on the way home and Zeke discovered he prefers mustard based sauces.
