PetFest 2014

Zeke headed out later in the day Saturday to check out this year's Pet Fest. By doing so he missed the rain and crowds, but unfortunately also missed the dock diving time. We sought comfort in the pup cream available from the King of Pops mobile set up.  Zeke wasn't too upset.

Some friends of ours just got a new pup, and it made me think of our most recent Lowcountry Lab Rescue girl.  Betty was our boomerang foster - we fostered her from her litter that was brought to the shelter, she went to a home, it did not work out and she was returned to us.  There were some real moments of "Should we just keep her?". She fit in well with our kids, as can be from the above picture of both Betty and Zeke napping on my lap.  Betty was also a very smart and loving girl, I certainly don't buy into the "behavioral problems" that was the complaint against her.  However as it goes, another adoptive family came to meet her, they had recently lost one of their furry family.  They really seemed committed to giving Betty the love and home she deserved.  Betty is now a new "mama's good girl" and doing well with her new forever family!  Sometimes happy endings take a little extra time.

Happy Birthday Zeke!

Zeke turned 6 years old yesterday, and was greeted with an ice storm/flurries. Being the adventurer that he is, Zeke didn't let a little wintry mix stop him from enjoying the day.  Although we are going to postpone his party until things thaw out.

We have Brown Betty back, a fostering boomerang.  Her first adoptive family didn't work out, so now she is back with us until she finds her forever home.

Zeke went to Sullivan's this Christmas Even morn to get some swim time in before this year's license expired.

Molly the chocolate lab*

 Our current foster girl is Molly, a sweet and lively chocolate lab mix. Molly enjoys cuddling and jumping around in circles like a circus dog. Check out Lowcountry Lab Rescue if you are interested in adopting Molly.

NC Foothills

Zeke and family took a working vacation to the eastern foothills of North Carolina.  He had a blast, we found good hiking and swimming spots, along with some beautiful scenery. 

 Harper Creek Falls - the hike was easy, but getting down to the falls for a picture turned out to be pretty adventurous. There is a rope to guide you down, but it doesn't really help the four legged crowd. 

 Zeke at Moravian Falls - this was just a drive by, no hike to these falls. 

Zeke found a good system of trails and lake to swim in here. We will definitely explore that more in the future. 

Sullivan's Island

Elly Brown!

 Some of Zeke's old friends and some new ones came over for a cookout yesterday. Zeke first met Evan when Evan was just 1 week old.
