our gracious hostess

Zeke and Sadie's Thanksgiving wouldn't have been the same without the welcome the recieved from Mrs. Hess. They had a fabulous and fun time staying at her home. Thanks!

on the road again...

Today we traveled back home (and have arrived safely), we stopped at a nice rest area as you enter into North Carolina. Zeke seemed to get a little anxious driving through the mountains, he was panting and shaking some. We thought it might be related to the pressure change, maybe his ears don't pop and adjust as easily as human ears do.
Zeke said it was fun to travel but great to be back home.

Williamson WV

For the Thanksgiving holiday we went to visit the family in West Virginia. Today Zeke got his formal introduction to Williamson. Above he is pictured at the floodwall.

Here is Zeke at the "Coal House". The area chamber of commerce is made entirely of coal, a symbol of the areas leading industry. Unfortunately the coal house was closed today, so we didn't get to buy any souveniers or meet any of the welcome wagon.

Sadie, Zeke and Dad take a break in front of Chief Logan of the Mingo tribe.

The area also has some great ATV trails, so we all took a hike to check out the Buffalo Mountain Trail of the larger Hatfield McCoy trail system.

MMM, that WV mountain water tastes delicious.
Here are Zeke and mom taking a breather on the hike. Very fun and educational day for Zeke. The trails are really fantastic.

Zeke at Work Part 5

Here is Zeke with Bessie, our Accounts Receivable and Piano Moves Superwoman. Zeke has found Bessie susceptible to his "SAD EYES" look and uses his power against her whenever she is trying to eat her lunch.

Trip to Harbison State Forest

Today Zeke made his first visit to Harbison State Forest. It was awesome, we hiked for a few hours on some really great trails. Then we stopped for BBQ on the way home and Zeke discovered he prefers mustard based sauces.

What can brown do for you?

Here is Zeke with Joe, our UPS driver. Joe is pretty much the coolest UPS driver that Zeke has ever met. Today he brought treats and posed for a picture. Mom thinks Zeke would make a great spokesdog for UPS.

one more from Halloween

We took the kids to a friend's haunted house where Dad got to be a scary chainsaw wielding maniac. Mom walked the pups around the neighborhood so they could get lots of petting (we brought our our dog friendly trick or treats)

9 month update

Zeke turned nine months old yesterday. I took him to PetSmart to pick out a bone and do the weigh-in. He is at 83.2 lbs. So it looks like we might finally be reaching a plateau (which is great , we thought he might end up at 95 pounds or more!).
We have officially transistioned from Large Breed Puppy Chow to regular dog food. He and Sadie are eating the same stuff and both getting a raw egg twice a week. We've started to notice some more shedding.
The above picture is a paw art Zeke made for me at Paws in the Park last weekend.
